Vector Run:  The Trilogy

NOTE: THIS IS THE ORIGINAL VERSION OF THIS GAME MADE IN 2018.  SINCE THEN, IT HAS BEEN REBUILT FROM SCRATCH AND MADE INTO A NEW AND IMPROVED GAME, AND THAT CAN BE FOUND HERE:  https://lcmgames.itch.io/vector-run-2021

The game that started it all... for play on the Nintendo Entertainment System

Vector Run was a project made with the NESMaker tool (www.thenew8bitheroes.com).  It was the first NES game I made, and because I'm a big old sadist, I decided to make a difficult platformer game.  I wanted to make a retro game for the NES, but how do you make a "retro" game for a retro system?  Make it look like an even older system... in this case, the Vectrex.

Eventually, I made a Vector Run 2.  And if you make a sequel, it's only right to make a third game as well to create a trilogy.  I made a third game and ultimately put all 3 games into one big game which became Vector Run:  The Trilogy.

RULES:

On the starting screen, move to the right.  Each room you enter will contain a portal going to the game you want... room 1 = Vector Run 1, room 2 = Vector Run 2, etc.  Jump into the portal of the game you want and it will start.

CONTROLS:

Directional pad:  Move the player

A button:  Jump, advance text, cause random beeps while jumping and while the text is printing... yeah, I totally meant to do that...

FUN FACTS:

- The original Vector Run was a lot harder and quite buggy, and it now exists a self-created rom hack of my own game called "Pickle Run" where your character is a pickle and the colors are gross variants of green.  "Pickle Run" is included in the downloadable file of the game.

- The game was made to be playable with only one button as a tribute to the "Atari" stage of the first game... if you play the trilogy on an emulator, have an adapter that allows you to plug an original Atari 2600 joystick into your computer, and you map the A button to the Atari joystick button, you can officially play the entire trilogy with an Atari joystick!

I like 1 and 3. 2 is one i dislike the most. It just doesn't stand out to me. I really like the other 2 though!
